Robyn Mitchell

Fourth Grade Teacher

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Mrs. Mitchell joined the City First Christian Academy family in 2012, after studying education at Pacific Union College. She achieved her fifth-year professional certification at Walla Walla College in Washington. She is credentialed as a teacher in both Oregon and Washington. She also holds Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) credentials and North Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists teaching credentials.

In the classroom, her students are challenged to read, write and think at higher levels. It is her goal to develop students’ interests and get them excited about learning.

Mrs. Mitchell is married and has two children, Ryan and Emily. She also has a fun-loving dog, Beethoven. Together with her husband, the Mitchells love to travel and, so far, have been to Hawaii, Cancun, China and the Caribbean. Series books are her favorite, and when it comes to dinnertime, Mexican and Italian are at the top of her list.

“In my classroom, I hope to encourage students to be lifelong learners. I will give them the tools necessary to become creative thinkers, and make sure everyone wants to come to another exciting day of school.”

IN THE CLASSROOM

Fourth grade is a busy and exciting year. Her young Warriors study the state of Oregon extensively— its history, government, people, regions and important landmarks. They take several field trips to places of interest, including the Capitol Building, Dorris Ranch, Brownsville Museum and enjoy a paper-making class. One of Mrs. Mitchell’s favorite projects is making a paper maché map of Oregon and a travel brochure of the different regions within Oregon.
