School Board
School board meetings are held at the school, the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm.
Board Members
Bailey Brooks
Bailey is the Owner of a local marketing consulting agency and serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for a global home products company. She earned her Public Relations degree from the University of Oregon School of Journalism. Passionate about community involvement, she periodically returns to the UofO as a guest lecturer and career mentor. Her goal as a board member is to advocate for every student at City First Christian Academy, so that they may reach their full potential and establish a bright future. Bailey resides in the country with her husband and their two sons, who are City First Warriors and the loves of her life.
Bruce Burbank
Bruce was born and raised in Oregon and grew up on the coast in Newport. He moved to Eugene after high school and graduated from the University of Oregon where he was a Decathlete for the Track and Field team. Bruce and his wife are both Financial Advisors for Edward Jones here in Eugene. They have two kids Thea (Thee-ah) who is in first grade and Eli who is in Pre-K, both at City First.
Justin Meyers
Justin is a Eugene and Native and currently works for a non-profit serving underserved youth in Springfield. He has 4 children here at City First, three boys and one girl. Justin and his family enjoy the outdoors and spend a lot of their summer camping across the PNW. Justin is on the board to serve and be a resource to the school as we grow and move toward all that God has.
Brent Wright
Brent is a local business owner and no stranger to CFCA, he has been on the board for 5 years and has served as the vice president and is currently the president of the board. Brent cares deeply for City First and currently has two children attending here. Brent has seen the school come through many phases and is eager to see what God does next and how he can assist as we move forward into the next season for City First Christian Academy.
Sarah DeBell
Sarah serves as the Board secretary and has two children who attend City First. She and her husband Sam love to hike, camp, ski and generally be outdoors. Sarah had a MA in Literature and owns and operates her own senior transition real estate business.
Daniella Gentry
Daniella Gentry is a proud mother of two CFCA students who embodies a strong commitment to both education and community service. With a thriving career in real estate, she leverages her professional expertise to support and uplift those around her. An enthusiastic volunteer, Daniella actively participates in initiatives that enrich the lives of others. A devoted lover of the outdoors, she strives to inspire a deep appreciation for nature in her children. Daniella is excited to contribute to the CFCA community and enhance the educational journey for all students.
Bree Sweet
Bree Sweet is a proud Eugene, Oregon, resident, mother of four, and an active community leader. As a dedicated real estate professional, she combines her expertise with a passion for serving others. Bree has been an active volunteer at City First School formly Willamette Christian School for over six years, deeply committed to supporting the school’s growth, mission and its students. Her faith and dedication to giving back guides her involvement in both her professional and personal life.
Brandon Nickerson
Brandon Nickerson is the current Vice President of the board and a proud father of three. With deep roots in the community since 2002, he has been an active supporter of local initiatives. His youngest daughter has been a part of the school since 2015, further solidifying his commitment to education and community involvement. As a business owner, Brandon brings valuable experience and a strong dedication to fostering growth and collaboration within the community.
Johan Winn
Johan Winn is an Oregon native who served in the Marine Corps and the Navy Seabees during Operation Iraqi Freedom as an equipment operator. He currently works as a city carrier at the USPS since 2007. He and his wife Stefanie have a blended family with five kids and their youngest daughter attends CFCA. He attends Life Bible Church in Harrisburg. His hobbies include staying fit, being outdoors and doing activities that include his family.
Jennifer Slager
Jennifer Slager is a business owner and devoted mother of three, with her son attending the school since 2014. As a member of the community, she values the school's commitment to Christian principles and education. Jennifer brings a unique perspective to the board, aiming to support the school's mission and nurture a positive, faith-driven environment for all students.
Ed Emberlin
Ed Emberlin is blessed to be married to his wife Molly and has two sons, Laek and Colt that have attended CFCA for many years.
He has been the co-owner of Visiting Angels senior in-home care for 15 years with offices in Portland, Eugene and Medford.
Ed and Molly are members of City First Church and Ed is excited to be the new chaplain for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) at University of Oregon.
