Jonathan Dinsfriend
Music Teacher
Mr. Dinsfriend is a contemporary classical composer and music educator, and he is passionate about glorifying God through creativity and seeing a movement of Christian artisans who pursue excellence and reflect Christ’s beauty and intricacy.
He earned his Bachelor of Music in Composition at the University of Oregon (2007-2011). He also received his Master of Music Composition degree from Azusa Pacific University where his Symphonic piece Ex Nihilo was premiered by the APU Symphony Orchestra. In 2018, he was admitted to Claremont Graduate University as a doctoral student in music composition where he got the opportunity to study privately with Disney/Pixar orchestrator, Peter Boyer. In addition to teaching music at City First Christian Academy, Mr. Dinsfriend is a Graduate Employee and PhD music composition student at the University of Oregon.
Mr. Dinsfriend’s deepest joys include his wonderful wife, raising his three boys, writing music, and loving the Lord. His primary instruments are piano, violin, viola, mandolin, and percussion. One of his favorite things about teaching is the interpersonal nature of mentoring that allows for our faith in Christ to be practiced through experiencing God’s presence in worship.
I love inspiring students to thrive in their God-given talents and am thrilled to serve as the Music Director at CFCA.
